ELTEM SRL

SHORT HISTORY

ELTEM SRL was founded in 1990 with a social capital of 11 RON. The current social capital of the company is 78.800 RON.

Initially, the company produced only 3 rubber products which were sold in a few stores in Bucharest.

By acquiring plastic injection machines, in a relatively short time, the number of parts produced increased and so did the number of employees.

Today, ELTEM is producing plastic and rubber products, extending from injection molding to extrusion of plasticized and rigid PVC. The company’s main products are spare parts and gaskets for water pumps, cable fixture systems, pipes used in construction and plasticized PVC hoses of different sizes used in irrigation systems.

The company has developed its own distribution network, with over 200 stores in its portfolio which it supplies.

All this has led to an increased annual turnover, which has enabled further development by purchasing a new adjacent property of 4800 sqm, arrangement of new production and office spaces and acquiring new equipment.

In 2010 the company acquired two 80 tons high capacity plastic injection machines due to customers demand.

To reduce production costs, in 2011 a new internal workshop was created with equipment for the manufacturing of new plastic injection molds, as well as maintaining existing molds.
Last but not least, the company also modernized its IT equipment.

The constant preoccupation of the management in terms of product quality and ensuring a healthy working environment resulted in maintaining the ISO 9001/2008 quality management system, audited in April 2011 by an UK audit firm (certificate no AJAEU/09/11358).

NEXT STEPS

  • Analyze and improve product profitability
  • Development of contracts with companies that need industrial parts
  • Restricting the number of products entering the retail market, keeping only those that can be sold at competitive prices
  • Increase labor productivity by manufacturing automatic molds and acquiring high performance injection machines in order to produce a greater number of items per day with less staff
  • Efficient use of labor, given the seasonal nature of ELTEM products
  • Maintaining product quality and improving packaging and presentation for sale
  • Attracting new customers, preferably in the European market
